Oocytes Cryopreservation in Ukraine

For whom is oocytes cryopreservation recommended?

For women who would like to maintain their childbearing potential in the future, oocyte cryopreservation may be the only solution.

Indications for vitrification of oocytes are as follows:

  • a tendency to early menopause in the family. Oocyte cryopreservation will save cells before menopause
  • diagnosed cancer. Oocyte cryopreservation will keep cells before surgery or chemotherapy, or radiation therapy
  • desire to postpone pregnancy – due to education, making a career, or other circumstances

The IVF program with vitrified oocytes will make it possible for you to plan your pregnancy, preventing the birth of a child with a pathology.

How is it done?

FAQ

How long can we store cryopreserved oocytes?
Oocyte samples have unlimited storage life. A completely healthy baby can be born after decades of cell storage. The age of the woman at the time of cryopreservation is much more important than the duration of storage of the embryos, as it affects their quality.
At what age is it better to cryopreserve oocytes?
There are no specific recommendations. However, most fertility specialists will advise to freeze the cells at the age between 30 and 35, in case you are not planning any pregnancy in the short term. After 35, the quality of oocytes decreases.
What is the success rate?
With the development of vitrification technology, the success of pregnancy almost equaled the results of the IVF programs using “fresh” cells. Nevertheless, the presence of cryopreserved oocytes should not give you absolute confidence that pregnancy and childbirth will be achieved anyway. Cell freezing is an “insurance” against unforeseen situations and does not imply that it will be an absolute replacement for spontaneous conception.
