This variant of IVF involves fertilizing the egg cell (oocyte) obtained from a female donor with the sperm of the male partner. Procedure of Egg Donation In Ukraine (Egg Donation IVF Process)

Arrival in Kyiv for a 1-3 day examination at the clinic (1 day)

Donor selection (2-4 weeks)

Donor examination and planning the embryo formation scheme.

Donor stimulation (2 weeks).

All egg donors undergo comprehensive examinations and in-depth psychological and genetic testing. However, the carrier of a genetic or chromosomal disorder may be the father. To ensure the absence of genetic anomalies and chromosomal pathologies in the future child, you can opt for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), conducted during the embryo cultivation stage. PGT approximately halves the risk of multiple pregnancies and miscarriages in the first trimester, increasing the chances of delivering a healthy child when there is a high risk of transmitting a genetic disorder from the father.

How many weeks does an IVF programme with donor oocytes take?

Donor selection takes 2-4 weeks, oocyte stimulation takes 2 weeks, and patient preparation for embryo implantation takes 3-6 weeks, meaning that the total programme duration is 2-3 months. As for the duration of stay in Ukraine, 1-3 days at the beginning of the programme are enough for examination, planning (which can be done remotely) and 1 day for embryo transfer.

Who will the child look like when using donor eggs for IVF?

It is possible to select an egg donor with the same type of appearance as the patient. Therefore, the child can look like both the mother who carries and gives birth to it and the female donor. Or even the father.

What is the probability of getting pregnant on the first attempt with IVF with donor oocytes?

It depends mainly on three components: the quality of the husband's material, the condition of the endometrium and the fertility of the donor oocytes. If there are no issues with these components, the success rate of the transfer is 70-90%.

How can a mother prepare for IVF with donor oocytes?
